The Remnants of Rock deliver a family-friendly "Branson, MO" style show that is a "Celebration of the 1960s!" The band performs "The best music from Rock's golden era 1959-1969" including classic songs by the Animals, Beach Boys, Beatles, Righteous Brothers, Four Tops, Temptations, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, the Motown & Memphis sound and much more. The group has been performing together for over fifty years and presents a polished show that always includes audience participation. Perfect for corporate events, fairs, festivals, class reunions, charity events, and 50th wedding anniversaries. Performing only the Top 100 songs of the era, the music appeals to all age groups. The band has sold out many theaters and venues open to the general public while working with local Arts Councils and other organizations. About the band members: Rick Calhoun: A guitarist, vocalist, and NSAI songwriter who founded The St. James Group, Rick also plays in Mike Huckabee’s "Capitol Offense" and has worked in the studio with industry legends like Marty Stuart and Barry Beckett. Mark Calhoun: An original member of The St. James Group and Rick’s brother, Mark plays bass and backup vocals, runs his own recording studio, and spent years as a touring sound engineer for stars like Alabama and Willie Nelson. Johnny Bradley: An original drummer for The St. James Group, Johnny delivers a solid, driving performance often compared to Ringo Starr while providing strong lead vocals on classic songs. Mike Mitchell: Serving as the original lead singer and trumpeter for The St. James Group, Mike brings a dynamic vocal range to classic Motown and Memphis soul hits. Tommy France: A seasoned Nashville and Branson arranger, pianist, and former musical director for the award-winning "50's At The Hop," Tommy has backed major acts like The Platters and Bill Medley. Danny Smith: Though a non-performing member, Danny brings award-winning audio engineering experience—having toured with acts like Alice Cooper and Dolly Parton—and currently serves as the head audio engineer at Verizon Arena while also being an award-winning novelist. The Remnants of Rock Show Reviews & Comments (as seen on our website): “What an amazing Blast from the Past!!! You were all “out of this world, Crazy Good”!!! I was blessed enough to personally tell each of you (with the exception of the drummer who is the absolute world’s BEST ROCK SCREAMER EVER) just how much I enjoyed the evening. You are crazy good! Thank you all again for such a wonderful evening and making the concert one to remember! God Bless! Keep Rockin’! – Diane Gandy Sisler “The Remnants of Rock brought down the house during their recent appearance in the Woodlands Auditorium. Hot Springs Village residents were treated to an authentic experience from the Golden Era or Classic Rock and Roll. And from the crowd’s reaction, their music struck the right chords. Songs from the 60s rolled off the stage lifting the audience to its feet. The band presented a stellar performance to a full house and kept the crowd engaged throughout the evening. The audience was on its feet singing along during the final five songs of the evening and they stayed until the very end – even after the encore. The Remnants of Rock produced an evening of new memories for the HSV residents fortunate to hear them play. Rock on.” – Suzanne Sweeten, Hot Springs Village Voice “The Remnants (of Rock) put on a fantastic show at the Rialto Theater on June third. The crowd knew every word to every song in their set and even got up to dance in their seats! The performance was capped by a sing-a-long in front of the stage and followed by a couple of encores.” – Rich Moellers, Manager Motown 92.5 Radio
